All of things posted there are true. I bet he cooks for you all of the time! My favorite story to tell is the first time I made breakfast for him- we had been together for two months and I made homemade pumpkin spice pancakes and candied bacon. The homemade aspect made them a little difficult, but they were delicious pancakes and I felt like scum afterward.

Looks like it’s time to pop some bubbly and make a toast. Celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli’s boyfriend, Michael Castellon, has put a ring on it, literally. Turns out there wasn’t a deer, but a ring; and not just any ring, a beautiful emerald and diamond stunner that is also a family heirloom. Guarnaschelli is incredibly accomplished and respected in culinary circles. In addition to her love of food, she also has a great love for all things under the sea.

If Guarnaschelli wasn’t cooking crustaceans, she said in an interview she would have pursued a career in marine biology via Food Network. Michael Castellon, who is also known as Chef Mike, has his own claim to fame as a Chopped c hampion. Guarnaschelli and Castellon met four years ago when Guarnaschelli was dining out with a friend. The restaurant just happened to be Castellon’s. Guarnaschelli was so impressed with the quality of the steak, she said so out loud.

Meanwhile, Castellon knew he also needed to get Guaranaschelli’s daughter Ava’s permission before proposing. I mean, I guess you can, Mom.

After playing the dating game for several years, I finally believe I have found The One. Yes, our relationship is hard and wildly misunderstood. Yes, I come home every day with the knowledge that I may fall asleep before I see him. Yes, I go on double dates… alone. Being in a relationship with a chef is taxing, but ultimately, worth it. Most chefs enjoy the adrenaline; they feed off the energy of each other, and usually come home more hyped than when they went in.

On their second date, the pair got matching tattoos of a chef’s knife, and after their daughter Ariane born in , they tied the knot within

As Chef half of this duo, I hardly get a chance to write directly on the blog due to my hours but I contribute often with menus, recipes, food prep, instructions, responding to comments and even editing. Turns out that The Steward discovered that I make a decent editor -strange if you know me- but I find it is easier to edit her writing than mine. We have found that one of the things that makes our blog unique is the combination of talents that we have and how we have merged them in life and work.

This reply isn’t in response to anything in particular, just a general out reaching. I’m glad I found this blog I’ve been dating a line cook for a year and a half and we just moved in together we’re both He and I have great chemistry, but his working hours really kill me. Moving in has been a big step for me, one that makes me think about our future, which has lead me to become more and more frustrated with his choice of work He didn’t go to culinary school and he’s not making much money, so to me, his future in this career seems bleak, but if it’s his “passion” then I guess I either learn to deal with it or run.

Before I was with my boyfriend and as a teenage waitress I had a very stereotypical view of chefs: they’re angry in the kitchen, swear a lot, drink a lot and have a general bee in their bonnet. They get pissed when a waitress tells them a customer is complaining, moan about being behind a hot stove and work ridiculous hours. Now I know I was slightly wrong. When you tell someone your boyfriend is a chef, you will pretty much always get the same reaction – oh yes of course because he cooks for a living I get showered with lush dinners every single night. Aside from the reaction from others, here’s a few other things I’ve experienced thanks to my boyfriend’s chosen career.

As someone who had a career in hospitality I can affirm this is all so true! Luckily my OH used to work in hospitality so we are both very undetstanding – however hospitality is so incompatible with family that I gave up work. OH now works in AV and my list for dating a ‘soundy’ would be similar to your chef one. So I feel your pain, but just think how cool your LO will feel when her Daddy whips up some awesome food for her friends and they go home to tell their parents how much better her Daddy is!

Lol x.
